Bass Home Theater Seating
Bass home theater seating is built the way good furniture used to be built. Bass Industries works out of Miami and custom-makes every seat in the United States on a kiln-dried hardwood and steel frame, over sinuous springs and individually pocketed coils, wrapped in 2.2 high-density foam and upholstered in premium full top grain Italian leather. Pocketed coils are the detail worth pausing on. Almost no other theater seating brand puts a true coil seating core under the cushion, which is why a Bass recliner holds its shape years after a foam-only seat has taken a permanent impression. Eighteen models, thirty-plus leather colors, and rows built to your layout.

The Best Buy Magnolia Theater Seats
Both models were designed by Octane Seating exclusively for Best Buy Magnolia. They share a build and a price band, and differ mainly in proportion.
The Magnolia
The Magnolia is the fuller of the two. A 44 inch seat back handles tall viewers without a headrest extension, the seat and back are deeply padded, and the arms hide storage compartments for remotes and glasses. Stainless steel cup holders lift out and go in the dishwasher, which sounds trivial until the first spilled soda. An individual two-arm seat measures 37.5 inches wide, 40 inches deep and 44 inches tall. Quick-ship in black top grain Italian leather with power recline is $899 per seat. Build rows on the Magnolia group page.
The Headliner
The Headliner keeps the same 44 inch back and adds a wider 26 inch seat with plush curved armrests, which makes it the more forgiving chair for broader frames. Depending on arm configuration it runs 30.5 to 37 inches wide and 39 inches deep. Available in manual or power recline from $799 per seat. See row options on the Headliner group page, or view the standalone Headliner recliner.
Prefer manual recline in a warmer tone? The Magnolia in brown with manual recline is stocked separately.
How These Theater Seats Are Built
At this price most theater seating uses bonded leather over foam on a stapled frame. These do not. The spec sheet reads like furniture costing considerably more.
- Pocketed coil suspension. A true coil core under the cushion, not foam alone, so the seat holds its shape instead of taking a permanent impression.
- Sinuous springs beneath the coils rather than webbing.
- Kiln-dried hardwood and metal frames. Kiln drying pulls the moisture that later causes joints to loosen and creak.
- 1.8 high-density foam core with a cooling gel-infused memory foam top layer. The gel layer is the reason these do not sleep hot through a long film.
- Italian top grain leather from the Montebello region on the stocked models. Read our guide to spotting great leather if you are comparing against a big-box recliner.
- 44 inch seat backs across both models, with real lumbar support. Compare the rest of our high back theater seating.
- Chaise-style footrests that close the gap at the knee, so your legs are supported end to end when reclined.
- Warranty: five years on frame, springs and recline mechanism, two years on padding and foam, one year on leather and electrical. See our warranty terms.
Quick Ship or Custom Order
Same chair, two routes. Which one you want depends entirely on your deadline.
Quick ship. Stocked configurations leave the warehouse in two business days, with up to two weeks in transit. Black top grain Italian leather, power recline, ready to go. This is the right call if the room is finished and you want to be watching something this month. Browse more in-stock theater seats.
Custom order. Starting at $769 per seat and delivering in 16 to 20 weeks, the made-to-order Magnolia opens up the full options list: eleven premium Italian leather colors including Berry, Cognac, Espresso and Polar, ten vegan leather colors, plus bonded leather, leather gel and eight microfiber options. You also get manual or power recline, an optional accessory dock, a USB port on power models, and a choice of stainless steel or brushed bronze cup holders.
Building Your Row
- Pick your layout. A single recliner, a loveseat, or rows of two, three or four. A center loveseat layout works well for couples, and curved rows keep every seat aimed at the screen.
- Check your wall clearance. Both models are built as wall huggers, so they recline close to a wall rather than needing a foot of runway behind them.
- Measure before you order. Wall-to-wall width, walkway clearance and recline depth. Our room measuring guide covers exactly what to note.
- Planning a second row? Sightlines depend on riser height. Read the riser planning guide and browse theater risers.
- Bigger frames? Start with the Headliner's wider seat, then compare our oversized theater seating.
Finish the row with Octane accessories, or explore the wider Octane home theater seating range if you want more models at this price point.
