Curved Theater Seating

When you are ready to pull the trigger on your new theater seating one of the big questions that you will face is 'straight or curved seating'. This is a typical layout format that media room and home theater furniture options often are available in. Curved layouts typically result in your furniture forming a u-shaped footprint.

What are the deciding factors and why choose one over the other? The main reason has to do with the dimensions of your room and viewing angle. Circle recliner layouts will consume more width in the room and will give the person seated on the ends a slightly better viewing angle to the screen. Straight designs are more space-conscious and tend to be the favored option. Many home theaters today will also utilize a curved screen thereby negating the need for curved theater seating furniture or stadium seating.

The curved theater seating for the home that we sell here achieves its layout by changing the shape of the armrests. The armrests on a curved home theater seating are pie-shaped at the back of the armrest. This triangular design then creates a gentle curve. There is no change in the interior seat width dimension of the curved seating itself but only in the armrests.

Popular configurations are a half circle sofa home theater seating layout both with and without a center armrest. Without the center arm will create a loveseat arrangement with the two center seats in the row. Three-seat curved theater seating will also, and there is a wide range of options to choose from.
