Reclining Sectionals
A reclining sectional is the most flexible seat in the house. Every position reclines independently, so one person can stretch out flat while another sits upright, and the shape follows your room instead of fighting it. We carry 90 reclining sectional sofas from Octane, Palliser and Fortress in L-shaped, U-shaped, curved and fully modular layouts, seating four to eight, in top grain leather or performance fabric. Choose power recline, power headrests and lumbar, lighted cup holders, hidden storage, USB charging, heat and massage, or a wall hugger frame that reclines within inches of the wall. Free nationwide in-home delivery and a lowest price guarantee on every order.

How to Choose a Reclining Sectional
Buying a sectional with recliners comes down to four decisions in order: the shape that fits your room, how many people need to sit, which features you will actually use, and leather or fabric. Work through them in that sequence and the choice narrows fast.
Shape & Layout Seat Count Features Leather or Fabric Room Size Brands
Reclining Sectional Shapes and Layouts
Shape is the decision everything else follows from, because it determines how much wall you use and where people end up looking.
- L-shaped reclining sectionals are the default for a reason. One arm runs along the long wall, the short leg turns into the room, and the corner seat gets the best view in the house.
- U-shaped sectional recliner couches wrap three sides and seat the most people per square foot. Best in a dedicated media room where the screen anchors the open end.
- Curved reclining sectionals angle every seat toward the screen instead of leaving end seats looking across the room. In a wide space this is the single biggest upgrade to viewing comfort.
- Modular reclining sectionals break into pieces you can rearrange later. Worth paying for if you move often or expect the room to change.
- Custom sectional sofas with recliners let you specify the configuration piece by piece when a stock layout leaves dead space.
Prefer a straight run to a corner? Compare stationary sectionals or browse home theater sofas instead.
How Many Seats Do You Need?
Count the people who use the room on a normal night, then add one. A recliner sectional takes more depth per seat than a standard couch, so overbuying costs you walkway space you cannot get back.
- Five-seat sectionals suit most living rooms and a family of four with a guest.
- Six-seat reclining sectionals are the sweet spot for regular movie nights without dominating a standard room.
- Seven and eight-seat sectional recliners are for dedicated media rooms and large families. These are the large reclining sectionals people search for when a normal couch has stopped being enough.
Not every seat has to recline. On most configurations you can mix reclining and stationary positions, which keeps a console or a corner seat firm for anyone who prefers it.
Reclining Sectional Features Worth Paying For
This is where sectional recliner couches separate. Some of these change how the sofa feels every single night. Others look good on a spec sheet and get used twice.
- Power recline. Stop anywhere rather than at three preset notches. On a deep seat it is the difference between comfortable and almost comfortable.
- Power headrests and power lumbar. Adjustable headrests matter most when the screen is mounted high. Power lumbar is the feature owners with lower back pain say they would buy again first.
- Wall hugger frames. Zero-clearance geometry reclines the seat forward, so the sectional sits within inches of the wall instead of a foot off it.
- Cup holders and consoles. A reclining sectional with cup holders keeps drinks off the floor where reclining footrests find them. Consoles add a flat surface and usually hidden storage for remotes and controllers.
- Heat and massage. Genuinely useful for sore muscles and circulation, and the feature guests always find first.
- USB ports and wireless charging. Charge without getting up. Check port placement, since some sit under the arm where a cable will not reach comfortably.
- Ambient lighting and tray tables. Base lighting helps people find their seat in a dark room without the overheads.

Leather or Fabric?
A sectional leather couch with recliners wipes clean, resists odor and develops a patina rather than pilling. It is the practical answer for households with kids, pets or snacks, and it is why leather outsells fabric roughly two to one in this category. Browse leather reclining sectionals in black, brown, gray and white, or step up to Italian leather.
Fabric sectional reclining couches run warmer to the touch, absorb more sound in a live room, and cost less for the same configuration. Modern performance weaves handle spills far better than fabric did a decade ago. Our guide to leather sectional trends is worth reading before you commit either way.
Styling follows the material. Whether you want a sectional sofa with recliner positions that disappears into the room or one that anchors it, compare modern, transitional and traditional sectionals, or look at diamond stitch detailing if you want the seating to read as a design piece.
Sizing a Sectional Recliner to Your Room
The most common mistake is measuring the sofa and forgetting the recline. Sectional furniture with recliners needs clearance in front of every position for the footrest, and unless the frame is a wall hugger, clearance behind for the back to drop.
- Small rooms and apartments. Start with small reclining sectionals and filter to wall hugger frames. A compact L-shape with three reclining positions beats a cramped six-seater every time.
- Standard living rooms. Leave at least 36 inches of walkway behind or beside the sectional, and 18 inches between the seat and a coffee table.
- Large and open plan spaces. Oversized reclining sectionals hold their proportion in a room where a standard sofa looks lost.
- Tall or larger frames. Deep-seat sectionals give more thigh support and suit anyone over six feet.
Measure your doorways, stairwells and any tight turn before ordering, not after. Our room measuring guide covers the numbers, and our sofa buying guide covers the rest. Sectionals ship in sections, which makes delivery easier than a one-piece sofa of the same size.
Reclining Sectional Brands and Collections
Our recliner sectional sofas come from three manufacturers, each strongest in a different area.
- Octane sectionals lead on features per dollar, with the deepest range of powered options. Popular collections include Turbo, Flex, Magnum, Oasis and Bliss.
- Palliser sectionals offer excellent leather quality and a wide cover program at a mid-premium price.
- Fortress sectionals are built to order in the USA when the room needs exact dimensions.
