The film industry as a whole is one of the most lucrative fields in the world, and much of its success is owed to the directors that power the entire thing. Annually, the film industry makes well over $1 billion U.S. dollars, and continues to grow in success and profitability every year.

As for directors, we all know the big names like Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, and the Russo brothers, with domestic and international box office rankings of incredible proportions.

However, it’s no surprise that during 2020 even the world of film was affected by the pandemic, leading to a decrease in profits during the year as people were unable to view movies as they normally would and some productions were halted.

But even with these difficulties, some key directors were able to overcome the challenges presented and released films that went on to take audiences all over the world by storm.
